Hello NLRS land.
The second weekend of the ARRL's 10 GHz & Up contest is this weekend.
Anyone who has an interest in 10 GHz is invited to participate and/or
to stop by and check it out.
For Saturday, Sept 15, there will be a group operating from near the
top of Buck Hill. The access road to the top is from the bottom of the
hill, from the parking lot, and is on the far north side (to the right
when looking up the hill). We have received permission from one of
the owners to operate from there - please respect the property. The
group will have 146.46 and 144.260, so if you have any questions just
give N0KP a call.
In parallel with this operation there will be a small group of rovers
in southern and south central Wisc working towards Michigan and back
towards Buck Hill. If you have any questions about this group please
drop a note to Bruce, W9FZ or myself.
There will also be a small group of rovers operating in SE Minnesota
also working back towards Buck Hill and perhaps the Wisc rover group as
well. We could certainly use some more "rovers" in this group as right
now its just WB0LJC and KC0P (plus Carol). This is a one day trip.
For Sunday, Sept 16, the plan is less formal. A small group of
operators plans to continue to operate from Buck Hill, but a second
group may also set up for a while at Mound Park (St. Paul). Mound Park
is more accessible for most people. The Mound Park group may also play
a bit on 24 GHz and try some paths down the river valley towards Red
Wing. Again, anyone who may be interested in participating, or even
just to see what 10 GHz is like, is invited to stop by. Your best bet
is to check on 146.46 to see where the action is.
73, Jon
