N9TTX Rover Schedule for ARRL Sept. VHF Contest
Well, hopefully the bands will be open this year.
Not only am I activating a bunch of grids, I am also
trying to scout out good spots on my planned out
routes for future contests in the VHF/UHF realm.
Anyhow, here is the station breakdown and plans:
736R radio driving: 2-Meters: 150 watt into a 7
element
222 MHz: 30 watts into a 10 element ex-dopplar
yagi
1296 Mhz: 18 watts into a 35 el. EZ M2 yagi
726R radio driving: 6-Meters: 150 watt into looper
432 MHz: 100 watt into a 2/3 of a 25 el. K1FO
SSB/CW/FM (horizontal polarization)
2-Meter FM??: 50 Watts into a vertical whip
Frequencies: (SSB/CW)
I will run the road around 144.200 and 50.125 if there
is no activity or sparse activity. I will have
liaison/run frequencies of :
50.185
144.185
222.085
432.085
1296.100 or wherever
I will frequently monitor 146.550 FM throughout the
contest if I get the whip antenna refed.
Hopefully the inverter will work this time for
computer logging
though I may end up manually logging
and I am bringing a straight key just in case, just
because I get a LOT of hash noise when it is running.
Schedule
I will try and hold this as close as I can to the
projected times, mainly as I want to cover as much
ground as I can for future Rover sites
and for a
planned overnight stay in the Twin Ports. I will make
an effort to pull anyone I hear out of the mud, so
times may adjust.

I should be holding times fairly close
at least within
30 minutes, unless I get long winded or have issues
en-route. The only questionable times so far are the
ones in Michigan, as I have not traveled those roads
often enough.
Hope to hear a lot of you this weekend. Good Luck.
I modulate, therefore I am!
...73, and all that jazz,
