[NLRS] SEPTEMBER Contest logs (and 10G)

Further to John's comments for any procrastinators (as I myself OFTEN
am)...DON'T be afraid of what the robot says IF you e-mail your log
today...the PUBLISHED deadline for September VHF QSO Party logs is
TODAY, October 10th, both IN the QST Announcement and ON the web.

In my mind, that includes ALL of today, certainly if you get your
paper log in the snail-mail in time to get postmarked with TODAY'S
date, it SHOULD be accepted.

Similarly with the robot, despite the robot specifying that 0000 UTC
on October 10th was the deadline (yesterday, October 9th, at 7pm CDT)
and that there WILL be a message in the robot's e-mail reply stating
that your submission was received AFTER that deadline if you submit
today or submitted last night AFTER that deadline, it is my
*understanding* that such logs DO STILL get forwarded to the Contest
Department and *should* be acepted.

Further, it is my understanding that the new Contest Manager for
"other than HF Sweepstakes", Sean Kutzko, KX9X, should now be in
Newington (yesterday or Monday?) and "ready to rumble" (or getting
ready to). We should be starting to see his name replace Tom Hogerty's
on the various web pages where a name is given (such as on the Logs
Received pages).

Must be a lot of procrastinators like me doing last-minute submissions
and clogging up the robot's work queue. I sent in my September log a
short time ago (tonight), and have not heard yea or nay from the robot
yet. I guess I'll check again before turning in for the evening.

I'm planning to mail in the 10G log. If you try to apply all of the
even
allowing for the hierarchy of rule precedence, my read is that the
only
thing that is acceptable for the 10G contest is to hand-write your log
on the official sheets or a reasonable facsimile of the official
sheets.
I say this because the rules in one place explicitly say no binary
files (like an Excel spreadsheet), only Cabrillo format files, but in
another place say that Cabrillo format is not needed for the 10G
contest
(which takes precedence, but DOESN'T exactly say that ANY file format
is
okay, or even mention any format that works okay). Even the printout
of
the Excel file violates the rule that says that if you use a computer
in
any way, shape, or form, to log, then you must submit in Cabrillo
format, and a printout of a computer log is not okay.

Of course, I printed out my log from the Excel worksheet the last few
years and the logs were accepted, so I guess I'm getting all worked up
over nothing...

Thanks for the reminders about log submissions!
