For those waiting for 6m to open, SS CW contest is this weekend, 4 pm this
afternoon (2100) to 9 pm on Sunday (0300), 80m thru 10m. Its a great way to
practice some CW skills. Yes, some of these guys are flying, but if you tune
up higher in the band you can find some slower guys.
Here is the exchange: Consecutive serial number for each contact you make
starting with 1, then 2, etc, then your power level as follows - Q < 5 watts,
A < 150 watts, B < 1500 watts. S = School and U = single unlimited (using
the Internet), M = multiop. Then your Call. Then the last two number in the
year you were first licensed (for me, 1970 so "70"), and last your ARRL
section (MN).
So if I am working N0KP and I am running 100 watts, and this is my 23
contact in the contest, I would send
"N0KP NR 23 A W0ZQ 70 MN".
73, Jon
W0ZQ
