Has anyone else noticed that center predicted to be over the North
Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota border congruence for tomorrow morning
(1200 Z)? It's not broad but reaches Hepburn's 'Intense' category at the
center.
Any thoughts on what that might bring for possible "Field Day" Tropo?
By the way, I will be a VHF Op at the W9CA (3A IL) Field Day
operation...not on a hill or anything but we have beams for 50, 144 and
432 at about 35-40 feet elevation, running an FT-847. We will be
spinning the beams up to the Northwest and calling CQ. Will be checking
the calling freqs. regularly and trying to maintain a regular presence
on 144.190 as well. EN52wg is the 6-character Grid Locator.
And DON'T forget that there are no band/mode time change limits on VHF
so you can do BOTH SSB and CW contacts on a given band
"back-to-back"...we will be trying to keep "Know-Codes" near the station
or a "Know-Code" may be operating so don't be surprised if we ask to go
to CW or don't be afraid to ask that of us if we don't ask first.
