Recently I acquired a 400 MHz TEK 2465A scope that had just been calibrated
and has the certificate to prove it. That means that my older 200 MHz HP
1715A can be passed along to someone else.

I spent several hours today going through checking out the 1715A. It appears
to display signals correctly. I used the 2465A as the standard and then ran
a series of tests on the 1715A using signals from 5 Hz through 200 MHz
provided by my KH Function Generator and my WaveTek 3000 Signal generator.
With the exception of the expected 3 dB drop off in signal amplitude at the
frequencies approached 200 MHz, the 1715A read the signals at the same
levels as the 2465A. I made a change to the calibrator frequency so that it
now is 1.0 kHz +/- 5% rather than +/- 15% per the spec. The calibrator
amplitude was set for 3.00 volts.

I have the Service Manual and Operating Manual for the scope on CD-ROM. The
probe and manual pouch is mounted on the scope. No probes are included. I
may have some probes stored in Minnesota but I am not sure about that. I can
arrange to provide pictures should that be desired --- they cannot go via
the reflector.

While am not looking for 'top dollar' for the scope --- particularly if I
can arrange a sale to another ham in the Upper Midwest --- I do want to
realize some cash for the unit so I can invest that cash in additional test
equipment.

If you or someone you know might like to be the owner of this scope please
contact me. The scope is here in Idaho but I am driving back to Minnesota
next week and could carry it along if an 'arrangement' is made.

In addition to email I can be reached at 952-473-4539 [the number forwards
to Idaho].
