K0PG jogged my memory regarding Rovermania. Rovermania IV, the 2007 UHF
Contest (August 4 & 5) is a go ! Here are some Rovermania updates:

1) There will be both a CSVHFS Proceeding article and a presentation in
San Antonio on Rovermania. The title is "Rovermania - The ARRL UHF
Contest in NLRS Land". My goal is to increase the awareness of the fun
we have with it and how it has promoted activity.
2) This year the NLRS is sponsoring an award to the 1st and 2nd place
finishers in the Limited Rover category (NLRS defined as a rover with three
bands or less). The full rules are on our NLRS website at
www.nlrs.org/LimitedRover/index.htm .
3) I plan to send a letter to the VHF/UHF club presidents informing them
of Rovermania and the new award. Again, the goal is to have them sponsor
a Rovermania like event in their club's area.

The June VHF contest is a great opportunity to check out your equipment to
make sure that its all working, work some new grids, and to pick up some
new states & provinces for the States Above award too. However, please
mark August 4 and 5 in your calendar for Rovermania IV and the UHF contest.
The really fun thing about this event is that its just 24 hrs, almost like
a sprint, and its 222 and up, so you can leave those huge 6m and 2m
antennas at home.

If you have not tried roving before, this is a great event to give it a go
from your local grid corner. I do have a small 222 and larger 432
antenna to loan out if someone is looking for one, just drop me a line.

So a show of hands - who may be out roving during Rovermania IV ? W0ZQ/R
will be out with 222 through 24 GHz. Any NLRS op's out gunning to win the
first ever Limited Rover award ... remember its three bands or less.

73, Jon
W0ZQ
