N9TTX/R Schedule and info for CQWWVHF 2007

Well, hopefully the bands will be open this year
also. I had a blast last year in 4 grids. This year
I am planning to go to “a few more.” Not only am I
activating a bunch of grids, I am also trying to scout
out good spots on my planned out routes for future
contests in the VHF/UHF realm. Anyhow, here is the
station breakdown and plans:

726R radio driving:	6-Meters: 150 watt into looper/4
element antennas
			2-Meters: 150 watt into a 7 element
	SSB/CW/FM (horizontal polorization)

2-Meter FM??: 50 Watts into a vertical whip

Frequencies:
While going down the road I will be around the
calling frequencies on both bands within 10Kc or so
if
not crowded. I will move to my run/liason frequencies
of 144.185 Mhz and 50.185 Mhz when band conditions get
crowded.
I will frequently monitor 146.550 FM throughout the
contest.

The Looper on 6 will be the main antenna, at least for
Mobile work. For stationary stays, I will fold the
elements out on the 4 element for better gain.

Hopefully the inverter will work this time for
computer logging
though I may end up manually logging
and I am bringing a straight key just in case.

Schedule
I will try and hold this as close as I can to the
projected times, mainly as I want to cover as much
ground as I can for future Rover sites
and for a
planned overnight stay in the Twin Ports. I will make
an effort to pull anyone I hear out of the mud, so
times may adjust. Due to our club meeting before the
contest, there was no time to get the the
EN54/44/53/43 corner, so I will be starting out on
Arcadia hill in EN44. On Sunday depending on time, I
will be possibly getting up into EN57/67, or EN66/65,
otherwise I May just head south out of EN57 to hit
EN55 and EN54 on my trek home. We’ll play it by ear
by then.

The Sunday options are depending on driver fatigue if
any and whether I am running behind or ahead in
schedule.

I should be holding times fairly close
at least within
30 minutes, unless I get long winded or have issues
en-route. The only questionable times so far are the
ones in Michigan, as I have not traveled those roads
often enough
and will be looking for somewhat
conducive sites for VHF/UHF work for the next 2
contests.

Hope to hear a lot of you this weekend. Good Luck.

I modulate, therefore I am!
