Hi all,

Just a reminder that NEXT WEEKEND, the 14th, is our annual antenna picnic
at Mounds Park in St. Paul..
Yes, its the same day as the monthly breakfast. Yes, you may have to chose
which you go to. Sorry, but it couldn't be helped.

We'll look at microwave antennas and do some Return Loss tuning of feeds:
antennas 2.3 GHz to 10GHz; RL 1.3GHz to 10GHz. There was only one request
for a UHF antenna (902MHz), and they had to cancel, so we won't drag that
set up along. I don't have equipment for RL below 1GHz, so....

Antenna things will start at 0900; picnic lunch between 11 and 12 noon or
so. WEATHER PERMITTING. (All night rain, or serious rain Saturday
morning, and we all go to the NLRS Breakfast at the Old Country Buffet in
Richfield, as usual.) For picnic lunch, bring your own... we'll have a
grill, etc. Bring something to set on, too. The lunch spot is a good
place to test equipment: LOS over to the Capitol Overlook (2 mi - 3.2 km)
or down the Mississippi to Idel Ave (15 mi - 24 km) and non-LOS, but still
great paths further south: New Trier (24 mi - 38 km) and Cannon Falls (34
mi - 54 km). We've made a lot "firsts" over these paths in past years.

Exit 243 off of I-94 in St. Paul (Mounds Blvd exit). Go SOUTH, and stay on
Mounds Blvd (be careful you don't end up back on I-94 !). Antenna stuff on
the flats; lunch under the Aero Beacon at the top of the hill. Someone
should be on 146.46 if you need help.
