Paul, here is my wisdom (this won't take long). A small three or four
element yagi will beat the living snot out of any loop, or any stacked loop
system. End mounted on a TV rotator they have pretty wide area coverage
(aiming not critical). If you must go with a loop, commercially speaking,
the PAR designs are good. Check out http://www.parelectronics.com/ .
Prices are reasonable (in my humble opinion).
If you wish to build a loop, Googling produces many references. This one
appears to be "ok" and uses Cu pipes =>
http://www.hamuniverse.com/loop.html . Any stacking distance should not
be very critical. The 6m loop doesn't care, the 2m loop needs to be moved
away from the 6m one perhaps 24" and the 432 loop needs to be moved away
from the 144, and perhaps the 6m loop, by at least 12". More is better.
These are just swags. Tune them up individually, then see if the SWR
shifts when they are stacked closer together ... if you see a significant
SWR shift there is interaction.
