The web version of the ARRL's "2006 10 GHz & Up Contest Results" is open
for public reviewing. The QST pdf file is not listed yet, but that's OK
as the web article is a superset of that anyway.
In the 10 GHz Only category the top five spots were dominated by the W6 -
XE2 boys .... check out their side bar article on operating from the Baja.
The next six places, 6th through 10th place, are dominated by NLRS guys -
congrads to W9FZ, WA2VOI, N0NAS, KC0IYT, and N0UK for those spots in that
order. The W6 - XE2 boys dominated in the long haul DX paths with
contacts exceeding 1,000 km along the coastal duct and into California from
the baja region. Great stuff.
In the 10 GHz and Up category, NLRS captured 1st, 3d, 4th, 5th and 7th.
Congrads to WB0LJC, W0ZQ, W0GHZ, W0AUS, and W0JT in that order. W0ZQ had
the 9th longest DX in this category with the 632 km rainscatter QSO with
VE4MA. KC0IYT also made this contact, but Glen operated in the 10 GHz
Only class and all the W6 - XE2 long haul contacts dominate there.
Although it does not show up in the web tables, the writeup congratulates
W9FZ for the most number of QSOs at 596 breaking his first place record
from last year. Perhaps one day Bruce will also fix his drift problem and
he can make a few more Q's too .......
There were 115 total logs, down a little from last year, which was also
down a little from the year before that, with 30 of those logs coming from
W6 land and 29 from W0 land. I counted 20 logs from NLRS guys ..... 20
of 115 .... great job guys.
CU all in the contest this weekend.
73, Jon
W0ZQ
