Hello NLRS land.

With the September VHF contest only two weeks away, its time for some
chatter. I plan to activate my home station in EN34iu on 6m through at least 3456
MHz. Who else will be around for the contest ?

Last year NLRS sent in 17 logs, CVVHF sent in 8, and the Badger Contesters
another 13. Lets see if our plans for getting more WI & MN synergy going may
grow those numbers this year. Remember, no log is too small to send in and
paper logs are OK (forms can be downloaded from the ARRL website).

Regarding our previous discussion for an east/west activity "hour" I
received only positive comments from QSO hunger contesters on both sides of the
cheese line. I forgot what I had originally proposed in terms of the actual
times, but I think I had suggested one hour on Saturday and a second hour on
Sunday as not everyone can make one time or the other. Since the beginning of
the contest is usually busy, as is the end of the contest, how about 8:00 to
9:00 pm on Saturday evening and again at 2:00 to 3:00 pm on Sunday afternoon.
During these time periods Dakota Division stations look east while WI, MI,
and northern IL stations look west. Obviously people are not locked into
concrete with this proposal as the occurrence of any 6m E's, aurora, or tropo
may throw a wrench into the plan.

So who's going to be on ? Any rovers out & about ? Anyone needs to borrow
some rover antennas - just ask me. Comments on the suggested east/west
activity times ?

For those on the CVVHF and Badgers reflectors, please post this note there
for feedback & comments.

73, Jon
