Is 10mW on 10gigs enough to work rain scatter - yes ! As Bruce points
out, you will be about 23 dB down from the 2 watt boys, or roughly four
S-units. When the 2 watts stations are S9 to you, you will be S5 to
them. When they are S5, you will most likely not make the path. The
good news is that most of the time signals can be good on RS with S9 to S9+
on good paths (shorter, good rain storm, direct forward or backward
scatter). With low power you don't have as much margin so you will need
to make sure that you peak up YOUR dish on their signal to assure that you
getting your full dish beam on the right heading .... this is not hard but
it does take a little practice. When your weak, CW is a big help too.
