Hi Scott The RCS-8V that I have does work very well to 150Mhz, BUT at 220 and 440 not so good. SWR at those higher freq was Horrid and the loss was not good. If you open it up you will see the Relays are meet for HF. So forget it. Now with that said, I use it for my remote switching on my transverters on 144 Mhz and that works just fine. So to switch between antennas run two runs of coax and I use Daiwa "Far better then some others" 2 pos switches in the shack. That is what I have used for 5 years now between the beams and my halos. 73's Dave NØKP

Subject: [NLRS] Remote Coax Switch..

Anyone have experience with using the Ameritron RCS-8V, 5 position remote coax switch, on VHF and UHF? The manual states it can be used up to 250Mhz with little loss, and up to 450 with some noticeable loss.

I want to use this one, or its 8 position cousin, for 6m, 2m, 70cm. Is there any way to improve upon the design with better relays at UHF?

Or can anyone suggest an alternative? I need at least five or six positions for various antennas I will be adding. I have thought about a manual switch in the shack but that means a LOT more coax to run inside.

73,

Scott, KB0NLY
