"Rover-Mania" continues!!! (So what will Rover-Mania IV bring?)

Thanks for all the kind words John. Yes, it was a busy time for all of
NLRS land, and yes, Rovermania will be back in 2007 in the form of Rovermania
IV. As I have commented on time and time again, the UHF contest is THE BEST
contest for roving.
What will Rovermania IV bring ? A continued push on growth .... to get the
rovers out and to get the activity up. For Rovermania II, I had contacting
VHF clubs all across the nation, but was met largely with a very cool, very
muted response. I was not able to repeat this communication for Rovermania
III. For Rovermania IV, I am thinking of putting that push back on again
but this time it will be a little earlier and I will follow it up. The
timing for the first communication will be shortly after the ARRL contest results
are published. In addition to that, and new for Rovermania IV, may be a
direct communication to known rovers to ask them to get on and to get out.
I may also ask them to consider presenting on UHF roving at their local clubs
and to actively search out and encourage newbies.
While it looks like Rovermania III didn't achieve 200 logs, all three
Rovermania's have demonstrated growth in logs over the previous years .... that is
three years of successive growth. Also, outside of log submissions, I
wonder what the growth in the number of total contest QSOs is along with the
growth in the number of bands used.
