I think the last time I used Lubriplate was near 30 years ago. Used it 
on turntables then.

I don't know if it fills all the manufacturer requirements, but for 
years I've been using Amzoil fully synthetic wheel bearing grease in 
rotors. There are other full synthetic brands these days, but the key 
feature of a full synthetic grease is that it doesn't get stiff in the 
winter. Everything else I've seen tends to get thick like glue when very 
cold and then the rotor stops.

As long as ice doesn't freeze up the outside, I've never had a rotor 
quit in the winter using full synthetic grease. Many stores carry it and 
it even works on cars and snow blowers.... <g>
