Good evening gentlemen,
for those that didn't see today's news, history was made in Northern
Manitoba last evening.
Seems our man in Thompson (Shawn, VE4SA) was fortunate to work MMØAMW from
IO75 in Northern Scotland on multi-hop auroral-e.
Adding to the excitement was that fact that I was on the telephone to
him from Iowa at that exact moment! Shawn was kind enough to place the
telephone near the rig so I could hear both sides of the qso. The English
lad was sending at about 30wpm, and Shawn handled it beautifully! Mr.
Peters did in thirty seconds what I could not do in ten years!
We must all take our hats off to him, and raise our 807's! There is
talk that Shawn may be leaving the VHF ranks toward microwave EME. That
will spell a sad day indeed.
73, de KG0VL
Jeff
