And it is very easy to find a TNC-N adapter. RF Industries has crimp on
(proper cold weld) TNC ends for most coax and I have the crimper if you what
help.

I don't know what Yaesu call those connectors but they're quite common.
However, unless there is some really overarching reason to do so, I would
leave the TNC connector alone. They're actually very good up through the
low microwave frequencies. Probably better than BNC, and inordinately so
more than the grotty UHF (sic) series.
