I like the sound of this too. Just one word of caution, however - with
sufficient intermediate stage gain it is quite possible to be putting out
full power with no i/f drive applied. There is a fair amount of l/o
leakthrough with the DEMI 10GHz transverters. I found I had to add about
26dB of attenuation between the transverter and one of my amps to prevent
emitting only about 1dB less output under key-up conditions. The ALC in
that amp responded so quickly that this was not evident until I looked at
the output on a spec-an.
