Hello NLRS.
You may remember that about 2 or three months ago I said what a summer for
VHF/UHF activity this would be. Well, the June contest certainly played
into my prediction ! Just call me Oz. And hot the the heels of that we
have FD this weekend, Central States at the end of July, Rovermania August
4 & 5, the 10 GHz and Up contest August 19/20 and September 23/24, and
sandwiched in-between is the September VHF contest. I do believe that
there is a CQWWVHF contest sometime in there too ! Whew. What a great
time to be a VHFer.
Regarding Central States, I want to remind all of NLRS-land that having
this conference in our own back yard doesn't happen very often. The last
time was ten years ago. Please plan on taking advantage of this by
attending. At the conference, in addition to the antenna range and flea
market, we have a technical program that is going to cover ATV to
microwaves to roving to contesting to propagation (see the cut & paste
below). I am already looking forward to the Saturday night banquet,
the presentation on the 3Y0X DXpedition to Peter I, and of course the prize
table drawing. Did I mention the prize table drawing ? Also, plan on
stopping by both the NLRS and CVSS hospitality suites during the evening
hours. I'm betting that there is going to be a LOT of talk about the
recent June contest along with lots and lots of other discussions ....
there is not a stranger in the room, believe me !
If you have not received your CSVHFS registration form in the mail, you can
down load it from the CSVHFS website at
http://www.csvhfs.org/conf-06/reg/06regform23.pdf and simply follow the
directions. If you have question, ask. Early registration feedback
is indicating that the family programs are starting to fill, and once they
are filled to their capacity, we will need to close them down. My only
point here is to tell you that its a good idea to register NOW, not in the
middle of July. In addition, PLEASE BE AWARE OF TWO IMPORTANT DATES:
July 01: Last day to register lodging at the Ramada to receive the
special CSVHFS conference rate.
July 13: Late registration. Registration fees increase by $5
