What a weekend, I don't normally do more than hand out a few contacts to the
locals but with 6m open I couldn't resist. This is the first ARRL contest
I've ever submitted a score for. I never called CQ and still came up with
113 QSOs. Very nice Es on 2m, worked 11 stations in FN21, 30, 31, 32, 43 &
51. First at 21:50, last at 22:42.
BAND QSO Points Grids
------------------------------
50 82 82 58
144 22 22 14
432 8 16 7
1.2 1 3 1
------------------------------
Total 113 123 x 80 = 9840
Next time I would do the following:
1) Find a contest logging program that outputs Cabrillo so I wouldn't have
to spend so much time converting things afterwards. ( I use and like
VQLog.)
2) Get used to using the logging program so I could call CQ without fear of
loosing info during pileups.
3) Spend more time getting points to those within 400 miles, I spent too
much time searching for distant calls on 6m and made too few on 2m and up.
I'm working on an amp for 1296, hopefully I'll be done by September.
Progress can be checked on my website.
