We (me and KB9IQR) had a great time operating from EN67. 6M was the big
band with 220 QSOs...far besting any of our previous attempts from up on
Brockway! Best on 2M was K3EOD, can't remember his grid off-hand,
something like FN20 if I recall. In total, 99 grids...almost a VUCC!!
My only disappointment was zero QSOs on 222. I busted my hump and
finished the transverter a day before leaving for EN67 and we atually
finished the 222 Yagi on the picnic table at the Fort Wilkins State Park
campgrounds. I didn't have many dimensions for the T match, so I
guessed my best after looking at the manual for a Cushcraft 222 Boomer.
Mine worked OK (5 Watts FWD and about 0.5 Reflected) on the first try,
so I didn't bother to try an optimize it. I think our downfall on the
band was that we had only 4.5 to 5 Watts (just what it is supposed to
put out)...better look for a brick by September! :) Heard K9MU on 2M,
but couldn't get his attention ;) It was cold on the mountain...Sunday
was warmest, topping out about 51. 4 days of wall to wall sun, no clouds!
