[NLRS] Central States VHF Conference just days away!

Hello NLRS'ers:

The 40th Annual Central States VHF Conference is just days away on July
28th and 29th in Bloomington, MN. It's being held at the Ramada Mall of
America (formerly The Thunderbird) and is just across the parking lot from
the Mall of America.

Since most of you, on this list, are local, you most likely won't need
lodging.  But if you do, see our lodging page and consider its suggestions.

If you have interest, first check out the website, find lodging, and
come to the conference!  Start by going to

There are sections there that address program content, lodging, travel
directions, and the Family Program.

We are glad to have interesting presentations lined up in addition to
traditional activities like Antenna Range, Noise Figure Table, Flea-market,
Rover Row/Dish Bowl, and Banquet with abundant Prize Table.  (Bring your
antennas and pre-amps for testing.)

Please know that we also have an interesting (concurrent) Family Program
that your family members can enjoy.  Most notably, we still have openings
for the Saturday Morning Trolley Tour of St Paul.  Initially we were
limited to 30 but have now lined up a second trolley and can accomodate up
to 50 participants.

The time for pre-registration is past. "Walk-in" registrations are welcome
and encouraged--just come!  Our registration table will be open 1300 to
1700 on Thursday the 27th and 0800 to 1600 on Friday the 28th (and again on
Saturday).  If you will
be a walk-in registrant, consider sending us an email at info at csvhfs.org if
there are specific Family Program items for which you know you'd like to
sign up.

Attendance at the conference should be heavier than many past years based
on early pre-registrations!  Come join many other prominent VHF'ers at this
event!  Yes, you'll have to creatively solve lodging, but hopefully our
webpage suggestions will be helpful.

If you arrive in town early on Thursday, consider joining our caravan on
the Surplus Tour. The group leaves the hotel at 10am and visits the places
worth visiting in the Twin Cities.
