Hi again Chris...

Sorry, I misread your email... The robot problem filled my mailbox this
morning so I did a lot of rapid-fire cut and paste.

The change from Letter to Numeric designators for bands in ARRL VHF
contests was done a couple of years ago. Seems many people were getting
the band letters wrong - using E for 902 which threw things off on all
bands above that. Another common on was people using L for Light, when
L was actually 75 GHz.

It is now a requirement and the robot has been re-written to return Qs
improperly labeled.

Thanks and 73

Good morning, Dan.

It looks like the robot may be experiencing some difficulties right now.

I submitted by log twice now for the VHF contest but many lines are
getting rejected. On my first attempt there were a few entries with the
wrong date but that has been corrected. On the second attempt, every
one of the rejected lines was due to the robot not understanding the
band designators sporadically. Not every line gets rejected, but most
do. Of course, the correct single letter designator is used.

I just checked the cabrillo format change history and I see that the
single letter band designator was deprecated some time ago and that
numeric designators should be used instead. Is this now a requirement?

All of my prior logs were accepted without issue.
