Hello NLRS VHF'ers:

As part of our targeted promotion campaign for the 2006 conference, we
need to contact hams who "might" want to attend our event. Those VHF'ers
who actually get on the air and make contacts are one group who might want
to attend.

So, take your logbook. Scan down it looking for callsigns that you don't
recognize (or even if you do recognize them) from within the 7-10 state
region of the Upper Midwest and Canada. Jot those callsigns down in a
list. Also, pick a contest from the last year and pull out your logsheet
or entry for that. Scan that looking for callsigns--jot them down. If the
process of scanning a contest log went quickly, then grab another log and
do it again. (and yes, complete contest entries are ok if I can paste
them into excel and cut out the column of callsigns) I think you can see
that I'm stressing the Upper Midwest region rather than those you work
during a 6m opening.

Send that listing of callsigns to me in an email, as a .txt file, or as an
.xls file. If you do an email, or .txt, a vertical listing of callsigns
(with a carriage return after each one) would be helpful. I will take
your listing and paste it into a big excel spreadsheet. I will sort and
remove dupes.

I will repeat this call for callsigns (logscrub) again after the Jan
contest.

Relatedly, throughout the spring, if you work a new callsign within the
region, think of the conference and fire me off an email of these new
callsigns on the air.

I will take those callsigns and start trying to work on emails addresses
and snail addresses.

I will make the results available for review.

Thanks
Bruce Richardson
