I just tried a google search for "solder paste". Among the first hits
was http://www.stencilsunlimited.com/solder_products.php?source=google
with a syringe of 63/37 with flux rated for 6 months unrefrigerated life
and 12 months refrigerated for $16 for 35 grams with plunger and
dispensing tip. This was a sponsored link.
Here's an interesting link on using solder paste.
http://www.pcbexpress.com/stencils/stencil_article_page3.htm It says
solder paste in a syringe has more flux than the larger collections in
cans and that can cause slumping problems whether manually applied or
pushed through stencils.
I suggested the ceramic sleeve around the desoldering tip, just to
protect the world around the iron, not to affect the hot air, though it
might make the air a little hotter by reducing cooling of the outside of
the hollow tip.
