Ed,
It sounds like you have some experience with wire bonding. I've only seen pictures of the finished product and never actually seen it done. Can you briefly explain what is going on?
Specifically, can a fella take a board with pads that can be at least seen with the naked eye, super-glue a little gismo down upside down between the pads, and use wire bonding to attach the tiny LFCSP pads down to the board? Dumb question. I KNOW it can be done. But is it practical? And who has such equipment in this neighborhood? What does it cost to run 8 - 0.125" wires and bond them between the chip and a board?
