Tomorrow, Saturday, Feb 4, from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm local, is the Minnesota
QSO Party. Minnesota stations work everyone, everyone works Minnesota
stations. Minnesota stations send your name and county while non-Minnesota
stations send their name and State, Province, or Country. You can work a station
once per mode per band (so for example, you can work W0ZQ on 2m CW and 2m SS
B).
This is a very relaxing and very fun event ! Please plan on getting on
and making a few contact through the day. Make sure you indicate NLRS on your
log as this is also a club event.
On HF, CW activity will be centered on 1.850, 3.550, 7.050, 14.050, 21.050,
and 28.050, while on SSB it will be centered on 1.870, 3.850, 7.250, 14.270,
21.350, 28.450.
On VHF, look for activity on the calling frequencies and spread out from
there. Remember that you can make a SSB and a CW contact on each band.
Full rules, including the three letter CW abbreviations for the MN counties,
can be found at _http://w0aa.org/mnqp_2006.htm_
(http://w0aa.org/mnqp_2006.htm) . Make sure you check out the MnQP Rover Activation Maps and the MnQP
APRS Webserver links .... neat stuff.
Click on _http://mwa.ekarg.com/_ (http://mwa.ekarg.com/) and check out the
W0ZQ/mobile route. I plan to operate near 14.050 and 7.050 during most of
the day .... 40m will be our best chance to work inside of MN and locally. I
will also be operating near 3.550 towards the end of the contest when
conditions go long on 20.
Everyone, get on and spend a few hours in this fun event.
PS: Look for Mel, KC0P, on 6, 2, and 432 during the morning hours .... work
him a bunch and take home the very nice MnQP VHF award !
