The LO may be useful... don't know yet, as I haven't opened mine up. There is a bunch of data available on the net, mostly from Austraila.
I actually want to use some of the parts as a speed gun... the display and "computer" mostly. There will be a built-in error due to operating it in band instead of at 10.525 GHz. Maybe one MPH or so... I'll have to calculate it out.

Subject: [NLRS] Hot Wheels radar guns
If anyone is still looking for a Hot Wheels radar gun, I was at the Vadnais Heights Walmart store at County Road E and I-35E (first exit north of I-694 on I-35E) last night and they still have 6 or 7 of these on the shelf in the toy department. Still only $20.
Has anyone got a useful project idea based on the radar gun? I expect that measuring the speed of cars on my street would keep my interest for about 5 minutes. Is the 10GHz RF stage useful for a project? Stable enough to be a signal source? Anything to do with it after you bring it home? It is cute but I need a better reason to buy it. I've got enough cute junk already....
73, Doug.
