Began testing the 902 rig tonight (Demi 902-144). LO is working...+16
dBm and about 3 KHz off on initial tuneup (directions say min +15 dBm
and within 20 KHz, so I'm OK). While getting the dummy load from the
shop, noticed a loop yagi antenna on the shelf. Looks like a Directive
Systems Loop Yagi. Didn't count elements, but could be the 33 or 47
element unit. Not sure if it's for 902 or 1296 (have to measure loops).
Some of the elements are smushed a bit and out of round, but I should
be able to get them pretty close...the Driven looks OK, so I'm not
overly concerned.
Since the LO is working, it is quite promising that I will have a viable
unit for the September VHF contest...We will be in EN67, so is there
anyone that would have a good chance to work me going to be on?
Thinking K0AWU near Duluth would be a decent path (mostly over
water)...not sure if he has 902 though. Others way up North???
