Another UHF contest over.

This was my second August UHF contest roving. Last year I put on a lot of miles
and made very few contacts, but had a lot of fun. This year I put on about
300 miles less, covered one more grid and had 10 times the number of QSO's. It
is amazing what one year can do.

Highlights ... Working Mike KM0T on 432 CW while driving north on I35 near Owatonna. This was on a 432 loop attached to the back of the truck.
Working Vince N0VZJ from 5 out 6 grids
Working KM0T from 3 grids
I haven't checked the distances yet but K0AWU in EN37 may be the longest contact.
The contacts to EN40, EN63 and EN64 may be close though.
The new 222 transverter worked great.
6 log entries for K2DRH
Driving up on W0ZQ/R in EN43
Keeping an eye out for a loose horse in EN33

Lowlights ... although I wouldn't really call them low since I had a great time
Only working Vince N0VZJ 5 out of 6 grids. I usually get a clean sweep with him.
Understanding better what Bill K0AWU contends with - while in EN24 and 23 hearing
Twin CIties stations off the backs of their beams and calling my lungs out to no
avail. They need to point their beams out West more (as well as North) :-)
Only getting K0AWU on 222. We seem to have difficulty on 432. Guess I will need
to add an amplifier before the next contest.

Summary -
  222 25 watts to 5 element yagi -- 52 contacts 15 grids
432 20 watts to 6 element yagi -- 65 contacts 14 grids
  Total 117 contacts 29 grids with 6 grids activated - 12285 pts

  See you in September

  73
