GM UHFers

You know those quiet nights when the only sound you hear is your own
heartbeat?? Well ... sort of like that .... You have to mix in a bit of white
noise ...

Sure not much to write about for ANOTHER UHF contest. These
contests are pretty much "non-events" for most if not all of us up-north.
Almost all of the rovers are well beyond our radio horizon almost all the
time.

  Highlights ... Great 222 SSB QSOs with N9TZL EN52ri @415 miles,
K9HMB EN52rl @408 miles, N0URW @407miles on 432 SSB also!
Mike KM0T in the log again, both 222 and 432 (CW) ...bad birdie on 222
but 432 was beautiful, @ 310miles. Working W6GHT/R on 432 in EN37 ,
EN27, EN28 and EN38 .. Thanks Brock... ZQ/R and VPJ/R appeared in
the log a total of six times... but not a peep from a single other rover on
any band ... ARGH... everyone over the horizon .......

There ARE some stations up here! Qs with NT0V 222&432, VE3KRP
432, missing were VE4MA, W0PHD, KI0LE, KB0LBS, KB0CIM ...."Lots"
of points and grids lost there... bummer I heard VE4KQ briefly sunday
morning on 432, but the quick QSB prevented a contact.

Chris N0JCF and Gary W0GHZ were loud on 1296 SSB but not a
SINGLE other station heard and very few attempted ... again 1296 draws
attention to itself for being so low in count ....

Final summary ... My BEST Aug contest, but that is saying very little.

222 -- 18 contacts 10 grids
432 -- 19 contacts 14grids
1296 - 2 contacts 2 grids
10Ghz 1 contact 1 grid

  40 contacts 27 grids 3,645pts

Thanks for the memories and Qs ... Bill K0AWU EN37ed
