Hello NLRSers and BCers,
Some further detail to my "plan" (still a
questionable application of that term).
First, BIG THANKS to KM0T for being there to check
out my "Rover Ultra Lite" configuration from EN13ax
and EN14aa to his EN13vc QTH (>170km/>105mi). As Mike
mentioned on the NLRS Reflector, we made it on 144,
222 and 432 (I had to do CW, tho) from BOTH grids and
we also made it EN13 to EN13 on 1296 (2xCW).
ALSO, a big "shout out" to W0JT for his successful
efforts in collecting and putting the plans together
on the NLRS web pages...GREAT WORK! (and if you can
make enough "sense" out of my "schedule" below to
update it on the web page...THANKS!)
Change #1...432 will be CW only...the FT736 is FMing
on 432 SSB even worse that it has been previously so
I'll ONLY be CW on that band (still hanging about the
calling freq. and also trying "my" 432.073 spot). It
may be time for some diagnosis and possible surgery
when I get home.
Change #2...a "schedule"...starting at 1800, list me
in EN14aa, EN04xa and EN03xx since I will be able to
move among these fairly quickly with my "Ultra Lite"
configuration and planning to be on my way from there
sometime between 2000 and 2100 UTC. With approx. a 90
minute drive to EN12ax and EN02xx, look for me there
between 2130 and 2230UTC. Planning for at least a
half-hour at each of those new grids, so that makes
departure from that area anywhere from 2230 to 0000
UTC. The drive to O'Neill, Nebraska (EN02ql) shows as
two hours so that would be amywhere from 0030 to
0230. Sunday, then, will be a little more
vague...from O'Neill, it's an hour plus drive to the
EN01xx location (near Elgin, Nebraska) so that could
be anywhere from 1230 to 1400 for arrival, plan 1/2
hour there and it gets a bit "looser"...I will
definitely hit EN11 and it *could* be EN11ax but
could also be farther south where Highway 14 bends
into EN11. It's two hours down to EN00 and EN10 so it
may be a challenge to make it there but I *will* be
trying! (And too bad that Andy, K0SM, and/or his dad
won't be around since that will have me not too far
from Lincoln).
73, JK
