Hello all. Thank you for your kind response to my presentation today at AU-06.

I will follow this email later in the week with some helpful links to EME pages that will assist
you if you are intrerested in looking more closely at WSJT EME.

There was CONSIDERABLE interest in the SoftRocks SDReceivers as I expected. Follows
are some links of interest as well as the latest as to what is available.

All of my VHF/UHF use to this point requires a 2m IF. I have used both a Ver5/28Mhz and a
Ver7 SoftRock. I would advise the Ver7.

In my case I currently use a Ver7, a 28Mhz IC preamp, and a 144/28Mhz converter from the
1970's that I had on hand. For serious 2m use I use a <1db preamp ahead of the 2m
converter.

I use a P4 2.8Ghz Dell with a Delta44 sound card. By changing crystals in my 2m converter I
can display/receive a 96Kz segmet of the 2m band starting just below 144.100 and also
144.200. I have no experience yet as to how the system will respond to "local" activity during
contest conditions. At this point all use has been weak signal detection/display. Be aware
there a "nasty bird" at the osc freq at the midpoint of the receivers range. "Run of the mill"
soundcards will allow display/reception a 48Kz segment instead of the 96Kc I use. I also am
using more computer power than is required... More later .... Questions? email me please

SoftRock Kits ----- Tony Parks raparks at ctcisp.com

See Below::

The 1000 kit run of the SoftRock v6.0 kits has pretty well been sold
out.  However, boards and parts have been ordered to continue
supplying v6.0 SoftRock kits through the summer months.

The new batch of v6.0 circuit boards are due in on the same day as
the v7.0 production boards, May 10.  Additionally, there continues
to be a little bit of interest in v5.0 QSD kit.  I have ordered a
small quantity of the v5.0 QSD boards to cover the last few orders
in this version of the SoftRock.

The SoftRock kits are now as follows:

v5.0 QSD kit at $19 ($20 for DX)
v5.0 40m Low Band kit at $7.50 ($8.50 for DX)
v5.0 20m High Band kit at $7.50 ($8.50 for DX)

v6.0 40m/80m kit at $14 ($15 for DX)
v6.0 160m kit at $14 ($15 for DX)

v7.0 10m kit at $18 ($19 for DX)

I am continuing to look to provide additional band coverage with the
v6.0 SoftRock.  I hope to be able to provide a 20m/40m kit within a
few months.

Most of the parts have come in for kitting the v7.0 kits.  v7.0 kits
should ship the last part of the May 8 week.

Thanks for your interest in the various version of the SoftRock kits.

73,
Tony KB9YIG
