Apologies in advance to Chris, N0UK (and Alice)...it was NOT a bunch of
Minis that were roving! ;-)
Hi all...
We actually had FOUR rovers in the Chicago area for last night's 222 MHz
Sprint which brought quite a different "feel" to the Sprint. None of us
formally "danced" with each other but we did try to keep track and make sure
we got each other if one of us changed grids while another stayed put.
My preliminary "claimed" score is 1377...based on a total of 51 Qs from 27
total multipliers. Best Q & M counts were 19 Qs from EN52 and 8 mults from
each of EN51 AND EN52 (though not the same 8)...not checked for dupes or
count of different callsigns/multipliers yet.
Thanks to N9DG and KC9BQA for helping me get EN53 and EN63, respectively,
from all 4 stops. Other BCers worked were N9UX, K9UHF, W9GA, N9TZL and N9TF
(and apologies if I missed anybody in this list...I *should* probably *look*
at my log...apologies ALSO to anyone that heard me and called but I was
unable to hear them...line noise was horrific at my first EN52 spot which
was also the highest and farthest west spot that I visited...'fraid it made
me a bit of an "alligator" big/LOUD mouth but tiny/ineffective ears). The
other Chicago area rovers were Mike, WB8BZK/R; the Sullivans - Tim & Pat,
K0PG & K9ILT operating as K9ILT/R; and Gary, N9GH, operating as NA9US/R.
432 is next THURSDAY (again "slipped" a day from the "normal" activity night
for 432)...my plan is to rove again and I hope a bunch of us are able to
participate.
73, JK
