I would like to make a request of members on these lists.
Last night at a special meeting of the Black Hill Amateur Radio Club it
was decided that we would activate a 30 foot dish antenna which is on
our club site just east of Rapid City. This site is a good location on a
hill with a pretty good horizon.
The members with practical experience in the areas of VHF, UHF, and
microwaves in general is limited to a few. In light of this the interest
is apparently high as the vote was unanimous. What is needed is to
educate the "masses" so to speak. Our resources are also limited in
regards to equipment and a lot of the radio equipment will need to be
constructed. We are pretty good in terms of getting the dish motion and
aiming equipment procured.
Computers have done a lot in the last ten years since the last effort to
use this dish.
What I am asking for is input so that I can help our members break
into the microwave world. We need information. If you have a technical
web site that you think would be a value to our members I would
appreciate getting your url's. Sites regarding Rover operations, Digital
techniques, EME, and terrestrial practices would be welcome. Of course
any noteable information in the process of acquiring the necessary rf
equipment would also be welcome. Our plans are to create a contest site
for both EME and terestial work spanning 50Mhz to 20 Ghz..
We are also in the stages of creating a web site to park information
regarding our activities.
For the time being emails can be sent to me at:

Thanks in advance and 73's,
