It *IS* tonight, 7pm to 11pm local time (0000 to 0359 UTC).
Same basic plan as for last week's 144 MHz Sprint...I will be in EN52 and
EN62 for sure, probably also down to EN51 and EN61 depending on activity.
Timing will also be dependent on activity and I will *try* to return to
grids for folks that I might have missed. Sending this out a bit earlier
today so I will have a chance to check for e-mail replies before I leave the
house (planning to be on the road by 6pm local).
Testing a new antenna as well, a CrunchCraft 225WB...should have some more
gain than the 'ye olde' Log Periodic but will also require more
arm-stronging or using the Ford Ranger 200 HP antenna rotor for aiming.
Look for me around the calling frequency (222.100) and at 222.095 and
222.120. I will be checking FM (mostly 223.500) and TRYING to do that at
quarter after and quarter til the hour but will use the horizontal antenna
for FM.
Again, Gary, N9GH, will ALSO be out in the Chicago area, operating as
NA9US/R. I've also heard that Mike/NE9O plans to be on ROVING around the
Grid Corner down just NE of Indianapolis (EM69,79,EN60,70) and Dan/K9ZF will
be on from home, EM78 (point towards Louisville for Dan). I've also invited
Bob, AA9MY to get on from EN50 (Pekin, IL).
Hope to at least catch a few of you this evening (and there won't be any
band changes!)
73, JK
