I got a late start to begin with, and the bands were
quiet as all get out so it did not look promising.
Once I finally got down and started running the
contest hard, it was about 11 pm on Saturday. The
Aurora opened up shortly after and I ended up spending
a few hours running on 144 and 222 as well as 50
working aurora. I fell asleep about 8am and didn't
wake up (even with the rigs on and blaring) until
about 2 or 3pm Sunday. The Aurora was still hanging
in there and then 50 Mhz opened to the SW. All in all
it was not too awful bad. I had hoped for at least
20K, but I was happy to at least break 10K. I think
if I had a bit more power on 50 (other than my 15-25
watts), I would have done more. Also, that hill needs
to go...arghh! Thanks to all the stations out West of
Eau Claire for being patient with me on at least the
high bands...that hill and my backyard tree are an RF
killer.

             Dave...N9TTX
