With TWENTY days now past since the end of the September VHF QSO Party,
the League's "Logs Received" page for this event shows 423 logs as
received electronically. This is as of my capture of the web page just
before 4 pm today.

I had some more time to load the info into Excel so I have a tiny bit more
analysis.

The count of logs that specify a club is hanging in there at just over half.
218 of the 423 have a Club Name listed (I didn't count the "NA" and "NONE"
clubs). The PVRC is in the lead with 23 entries, followed by the Packrats
(Mt. Airy) at 17. The Pacific Northwest VHF Society is third with 16. 4th is
the Badger Contesters with 14, and tied for 5th are NLRS and the Society of
Midwest Contesters with 12 each. And STILL within the top 10 of club
affiliated log counts is the Chippewa Valley gang, with a total of 8 logs,
putting them in 9th place. This is ONLY based on COUNTS of logs.

Single-Op Low Power is the most popular class with 251 entries, followed by
Single-Op High Power with 88, Rovers are next with 35, Limited Multi with
22, Unlimited Multi with 15 and QRP Portable with 10. (2 don't list an entry
class...surprised the Robot accepted them).

The other check I usually do is for entries by Section. EPA leads there with
29 (not surprising for the home section of the Packrats) and WI is second
with 21 (almost certainly boosted by BC and Chippewa). OH, MN and IL round
out the top 5 sections with 19, 18 and 17
respectively.

This doesn't include any info about mailed logs...even if I know from
postings to the BC or NLRS Reflectors...this analysis is based ONLY on
electronically submitted logs as listed on the ARRL's "Logs Received" web
page for the September 2005 VHF QSO Party.

Remember that logs must be received by e-mail at the league or postmarked by
October 12, 2005...that's only 10 days away!

If you've already mailed your log (be it via 'e' or 'snail'), THANKS! If you
haven't...please DON'T forget to do so (and don't be afraid to ask for
help...just don't wait until last minute to ask).

73, JK
