Hi Mike. As you well know, the 10 GHz band continues to grow in popularity
for many reasons. Besides that band there has also been local growth on
2304. KC0IYT, KC0P, and myself have added 3456 recently .... 3456 seems to
be an easier band than 2304 propagation wise and you can still use a loop
yagi. That plus the lower cost higher power amps from PyroJoe ! I just
added 5760 last year. There are a few guys working on 24 GHz, but the
propagation on that band is pretty darn tough probably due to water band absorption
? I know that I can work 250 km on 10 GHz without a problem, but working
150 km on 24 GHz is darn tough. Don't know about 47 GHz.

I think people get on the microwaves for different reasons. For me, its
fun to build stuff, but I get my real thrills working stuff, so that is
probably why 10 GHz is so appealing to me .... you can work lots of stuff ! 3456
and 5760 also seem to be "easy" bands. For me, 2304 has always been one of
the toughest bands.
