I am definitely interested (I'd be interested in a September VHF multi-op
as well).

To my knowledge, the group that has in the past run K0SGI (myself,
Glen KC0IYT, and Jason N0RPM) has been the only multi-op station
around. Last September we took 1st place multiop for Minnesota,
and back in September of 2002 we took 1st place multiop for our
region (whatever the Dakota Division is in). And trust me, we're
talking a very modest setup, Field Day style, with relatively
inexperienced ops (compared to the rest of you), and less than
stellar locations. That changed a bit last September with the
K9CVC group running multi-op.

But the point being if *we* can do that well, a concerted effort by
NLRS to put a good multi-op station together would almost by its
very existence produce spectactular results.

We've scouted sites in the past, but have never come up with anything
that stands out as extraordinary. I'd personally like to find out
who owns the ski-jump looking tower over in Woodbury (west of 494)
and ask about using it, as it clears the surrounding terrain by a
substantial margin, and must have some sort of platform at the top
(though no idea on the size).

Barring that, another phenomenal option is the top of larger buildings
(say 10 stories or taller), as this usually means easy clear access to
antennas and the like, and no need to construct a "portable tower" as
such. When I was in college we (W5TC) would operate from the roof of
a 13 (or was it 15?) story building on campus with armstrong rotators.
Sure, we got desensed a lot by the campus police repeater up there,
but overall it was a fantastic location. A similar setup around here
would be most welcome.

Anyway, count me in.

Thanks,
Brent
