I had originally planned to make it down to the Beauford grid corner to
activate EN33 and EN23 but I ended up being so busy at the Winstead grid corner I
never made it down there. I started in EN34 right on schedule, around 8:00
am Sunday morning. While the weather was just outstanding, condx seemed
pretty flat but seemed to improve as the day went on.

Only one run-in with the local enforcement .... a county sheriff stop by to
check me out and we ended up talking about the recent bad weather and storm
spotting .... its clear that the local Sky Warn guys have added a positive
element lately. We had a good rag chew for about 15 minutes.

Lowlights: My 2304 is deaf. Best to find this out before Rovermania. I
thought I had fixed it as I found a bad cable, but there is more wrong to it
than that. Also sorry for those that I did not work and who may have been
looking for me or called. I know I heard JO and VJZ and others when I was
zigging and they were zagging. I tried hard to work all that I could hear
and I didn't leave a grid until things dried up.

Highlights: Boy, lots.
1) First QSOs with my new 5760 transverter.
2) 3456 rocks.
3) Good things can be worked on 902 with just 9 watts.
4) Besides 2304, the W0ZQ/R is ready for Rovermania !
5) Working 13 Q's on 2m AU with 50 watts and a 4 element yagi .... with a
straight key.
6) Working 4 Q's on 6m AU with 100 watts and a mobile whip. Best DX was
FN31.
7) Working IYT/R and KF0Q/R several times during the day.
8) I just set up my 10gig dish to work N0KP, flipped on my CW beacon, and I
could hear Dave say on 432 "Keep it going, I hearing you ....." and laughing
as I hadn't even leveled the tripod legs nor pointed the dish.
9) Lots of good activity out of CVCC and EN44. Always fun working that
more difficult path on the high bands.

Thanks to Dave, N0KP, for loaning me his FT-857. I'm favorably impressed
with it as it performed flawlessly .... I did have to change the "pink"
display though.
