Hello NLRS land.

In recent discussions with various club members, there seems to be some
desire for another club purchase of DownEast Microwave (DEM) equipment.
DEM does offer a club discount, and in addition, there should be some
savings on shipping cost. DEM's rules for a club purchase can be found
on their website at http://www.downeastmicrowave.com/clubdis.htm .

1. I will act as the club contact. I will collect all orders and your
check. I will then write one check to DEM. DEM will send all orders to
me (Bloomington, MN). You must arrange with me for pick-up at my house, or
NLRS breakfast, etc., or arrange for someone to pick it up for you. I am
not overly interested in re-shipping.

2. Per the DEM website, we need a minimum order amount.

3. Per the DEM website, discounts are NOT available on the following
items.
* All separate antennas and antenna' accessories (Yagis, power dividers,
stacking frames, cable assemblies). But standard discount applies for
phased array assemblies. Hybrid power modules
* Standard Power amplifiers, but options for the power amplifiers will be
discounted.
* ICE, SETI, Lunar-Link Systems products, DCI, TOKO, TOHTSU, RELAYS.
* Special non catalog item orders (but we are generous on these anyway).
*  Repairs
*  Sale or Surplus items
*  10GHz transverter (any form).

IMPORTANT: Although these items are not DIRECTLY discounted, if the total
order is over $500 the ground shipping is free, and if the total order is
over $1,000 there is an additional 2.5% cost savings on ALL orders. So,
if I read this correctly, if you order a 10 GHz system, although there is
no direct discount, if the club order exceeds $1,000, you have a 2.5%
savings and free shipping.

4.   Discounts:
* 10% on all kits except those mentioned in paragraph 4.
* 5% on all assembled products except those mentioned in paragraph
* 5% on all Teflon PCB's or PCB material.
* 10% on all components (MMIC's, GaAsFET's, enclosures, connectors, etc.)
except those mentioned in paragraph 4.

Proceedure:
Step #1 is to find out how much interest there is in the club for a group
order. Please take a look at the DEM website & catalog at
http://www.downeastmicrowave.com/ and send me an email (W0ZQ at aol.com)
regarding your order. I will collect and summarize all orders to see if
we meet the minimum requirements.

Step #2. Once I have confirmed that we are going to meet the minimum and
that the order is a GO, I will confirm your order with you and seek a check
or cash.

Step #3. Once I have all the checks or cash, I will place the order.

This is a great opportunity to add some new bands to your home or rover
station. The June VHF contest and Rovermania are not all that far away.
Personally, I'm looking at the 5760 stuff. I'm looking forward to
seeing your orders.

73, Jon
W0ZQ
