VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!
Saturday March 19, 2004 7:30AM - 1:30PM

Buffalo Civic Center
1306 County Road 134
Buffalo MN 55313

Here we go again! We again this year have a Club table for Midwinter
Madness. By now this process should be old hat. Previously several
members stated that the shifts were too long for them to commit time to
the Club Table. This year I have shortened the shifts to a minor 1 hour in
the hope that more members will step forward to help at the club table while
still allowing maximum Hamfest browsing time. Zealous involvement by
most of our members is neccesary for this new shorter shift process to work.

Again I think it is important to have lots of stuff to show and lots members
at the table to show stuff and talk up the upper bands and Aurora 2005.
This is what makes a club look interesting and involved and gets newcomers
excited. We have had good showings at the last several events and continue
to create growth, awareness, and new involvement in this part of the hobby
and its contests. We have had a couple of members give presentations to
other clubs and Hamfests as a result of our visibility. Also Rovermania was
a roaring success last year, and I believe our club showings at the
Hamfests has contributed to that excitement. I hope to work with Jon
promote Rovermania better this year and this showing will be the beginning
for this year to promote our Club and our Special Events including Aurora
2005.

Please carefully consider helping out.

I think the free flowing ideas helped last time so feel free to contact me
directly or through the reflector. I will continue to provide updates to
the reflector so everyone is informed.

I will be working with Russ to create a more professional Club sign and club
appearance.

I would like to have three people at the booth at all times to talk to
attendees. I am planning on 1 hour shifts with the first and last shift
having an extra 1/2 hour for setup and tear down outside of the active
Hamfest period. This means we will need to fill a total of 15 positions.
Three people per shift. Please consider signing up for multiple or split
shifts.

Shifts will be:

Shift one 7:30-9:00
Shift two 9:00-10:00
Shift three 10:00-11:00
Shift four 11:00-12:00
Shift five 12:00-1:30
