The "Gridinator" claimed its 12th victim today, EN11 specifically.
Hopefully finding a few new victims this weekend :) as the humidity is on
the low side. Gene - N0DQS may be going out to a few more grids this
weekend.

Distance was only 78 miles, but the path was essentially south from my QTH,
and obstructed by the trees in town. Now that the 24 GHz is on the tower,
that helped dramatically. Gene was also in the river valley in EN11xx, as
to find high ground in EN11 makes it a long trip west. So we decided to try
there. Gene indicated that the river valley has a very very long and
un-obstructed horizon in my direction, that I think was key from that
location..

We peaked on 10 GHz with 5x9 very solid signals, then Gene turned on the 24
GHz beacon. There he was on the SDR-1000 bandscope, happily blipping away.
A minor (very minor) peaking resulted in 5x5 to 5x6 solid signals, with a
very long QSB swing here and there. RH was 55 to 60% with dewpoints about
the same. The RH was rising steadly as the local temps dropped. We
finished up around 8:30 local as things started to darken up. Signals still
at 5x6 solid copy.

W0ZQ, you going out this weekend for direct path trys?

73 to all and have a good weekend.
