Hi Jon and every one I would be happy to go and sit on a 2000 ft Hill side.

Subject: [NLRS] 10GHz & Up second weekend
As most of you know, the second installment of the 10 GHz & Up contest is
Sept 17 and 18. K0AWU has already posted his preliminary plans. In
addition, over the last couple of days, there has been additional
conversations, plots, plans, etc.
What appears to be shaping up, and this is REAL EARLY AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE,
is another Sisseton operation in conjunction with a Red River Valley (RRV)
rove. One question to ask is how gung ho we are going to be .... and if
there is a more gung ho group than another its possible to have more than
one rover group in the RRV.
For example, if I go to rove the RRV, I am going to take Mike's 24 gig with
me with the idea of working VE4MA on 10 and 24 gig. I do not want to be
slowing down a 10 gig only rover pack because I am fiddling with 24 gig, and
there is much much more fiddle factor on 24 gig !
One thought that I am entertaining is to start the contest very close to the
US/Canadian border and to work my way southward working Barry, Sisseton, and
any other "local" rovers who may be in the RRV. I am not (necessarily)
planning a gung ho operation .... like I said I could see other rovers
playing in the RRV more aggressively .... or not. I would try to find
some good spots in EN15, 25 & 35 to try to give KM0T those grids on 24 gig
(if Mike is going to be around .... perhaps on Sunday ?).
Again, this is all tentative and highly subject to change.
So, a show of hands.
A) Who is interested in going to Sisseton.
B) Who is interested in roving the RRV (perhaps with me, perhaps with other
rovers) ?
C) Who is interested but cannot do either one ? I think we should plan
on some Twin Cites only activity too, and/or in the event of major weather
in the RRV that cancels that event ("Plan B").
D) Are there any other plans ? I'm all ears.
73, Jon
