Hello all!

The Concordia College High-Altitude BalloonSat (ConHAB) group is going to
launch it's first balloon this Saturday.

The launch site is in the Lake Ashtabula Rec. area on the east side of Bald
Hill Dam, north of Valley City, ND. The estimated time of launch is
11:00am. Landing time should be somewhere around 1:00. This a is a flight
to burst altitude, or about 100,000 feet. Landing is projected to be in
northern Richland or Wilkin county (depends on what the initial rise rate
of the balloon is).

The beacons to listen for:
Primary APRS: 145.7 MHz, KC0NSR-11, 1.5 watts
Secondary APRS: 144.390 MHz, KC0NSR-2, 150 milliwatts
Simplex Voice Repeater: 445.5 MHz, 1.5 watts

The secondary APRS beacon will be gated to the internet via the findu.com
system. Click on this link to see it live:
http://www.findu.com/cgi-bin/find.cgi?call=KC0NSR-2

The simplex voice repeater is a "store-and-forward" DVR. Key up your mike,
wait for a second, and speak. Keep it short, as the DVR will only keep 30
seconds worth. Release the key, and a few seconds later, it will transmit
your message. Depending on available help, we may have a net control
running this. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of range we can get
out of it.

I'll send out an email on Friday morning with the final Go/NoGo on the launch.
