Hello NLRS land.

Sorry for the short notice on this. As many of you may know the San
Bernadino Microwave Society is sponsoring a microwave contest this coming
weekend. The full rules can be found at
http://www.ham-radio.com/sbms/club_contest/2GHz_Up_test_2005.pdf . The
contest is for 2 GHz and up, allows for up to 24 hrs of operation during
the time frame of 6 AM Sat morning to 12 midnight Sunday evening, and
encourages the use of scheduling and coordination. The scoring format is
much like the 10GHz contest where points are based on distance (1 per Km)
with 100 points for unique calls, and one end has to move at least 10 miles
before a new contact can be made again. Also of interest .... there is a
club aggregate scoring element so we can combine our scores and submit them
for the club.

I was thinking of trying to get on for a while, either from the house or
perhaps doing a bit of roving on either Sat. or Sunday. Right now I have
2304, 3456 and 10GHz ..... 5,7 is still at the store.

Anyone else thought about being around for this one and if so, what day(s)
and/or times were you thinking of ? At the very least, we could do some
10gigs off of downtown, maybe Sat or Sunday morning (or both for whomever
shows up and/or moves ?). Remember the 100 pts for a unique call.
Might be fun to line up and work KM0T and/or K0AWU on 10gigs (and on
whatever other bands we have along) if they are interested and we can find
a common time. Unfortunately the long range forecast looks dry for the
entire weekend (albeit pleasant for roving).

If there is some interest in some of these ideas, or if you have one, let
me know and I'll try to coordinate it a little more (emphasis on little).
For coordination we can use cell phones, 146.46 when in range, a FM
repeater per previous coordination and 144.260 (especially for fixed
stations and rovers so equiped).

73, Jon
