Hi John, nice to see you at Aurora'05 on Saturday. Regarding FD, the
NLRS has both formally and informally discussed operating it as a club in
the past. Our feeling was that many/most of us are members of other clubs
and by integrating our VHF equipment and knowledge with those other clubs,
that we can better expose them to the fun regarding the world above 50 MHz
..... much as the same concept that you have discussed. Also, my
experience from within the club is that we have membership with FD opinions
that range from great excitement to no interest whatsoever ..... which is
not surprising as we are a weak signal VHF club.

Thanks for volunteering to coordinate "FD-mania". I encourage those NLRS
members who are going to be doing FD and will have a VHF station to forward
your information to John as he has indicated. Let us know via the
reflector how things are proceeding. 6m's is usually hopping this time
of year, we've experienced some good tropo in past years, and any excuse to
play microwaves is a good excuse.

73, Jon
W0ZQ.
