OK, so I was wrong!  I was comparing my score against the first leg only 
of last year.  It was actually about 5k lower than last year.  Still, I 
really expecting a much poorer return.

It would have been nice to work more from SDak, but it wasn't to be.  
Perhaps next year if we make the trek west - and I think we should - we'll 
have a similarly-sized gang of ops willing to rove somewhat closer as Jon 
suggested.
